Exempt Technical Orientation Program (ETOP)

The Praxair Exempt Technical Orientation Program (ETOP) is a 2-Year technical developmental program that is sponsored by Praxair's United States Industrial Gases (USIG) business unit.
The ETOP is a mentored program, with each participant assigned a sponsor, and is specifically designed for each individual that is desiring to use a technical degree or technical background in your Praxair role. The ETOP will learn and train to manage and execute Praxair's maintenance and reliability programs in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Specific activities that will be performed by the ETOP are related to the day to day operations of the department which include learning how to:
Primary technical resource for safe and reliable operation and maintenance of mechanical or electrical industrial equipment such as :
Compressors, Turbines, Pumps, Heat Exchangers and Piping Systems
Motors, transformers, switchgear and subststaions up to 138kV
Monitor Preventive/Predictive maintenance programs and ensure timely resolution of all identified issues.
Provide on-site or remote technical support and direction to sites in the region.
Assist in turnaround planning and execution.
Assist in Identifying and resolving chronic or long term equipment concerns.
Support root cause analysis program for major failures.
Develop and execute small expense/capital projects for reliability improvement
Drive resolution of highest impact issues with a strong sense of urgency and integrity.
Work independently and make decisions based on full awareness of cost and other benefits.

Estimated start date for the 2018-2019 TOP program will be on or around July 1, 2018.
Travel is required to various sites throughout North America in order to complete assignments, participate in learning activities, and/or for group and individual training.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 0 - 3 years of experience (internship or co-op experience highly desirable.)
The qualified candidate will meet the following criteria:
A 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) out of 4.0 is highly desirable.
Must be able and willing to adapt to a work schedule that coincides with plant/location operational needs and travel to facilities within the region.
Must be able and willing to perform the following:
climb ladders and steps on multi-story process platforms.
collect process data at elevated levels on permanent and temporary structures such as scaffolds.
Excellent communication and team interaction skills
Ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on teams
Familiarity with computers and standard computer software packages
Familiarity with standard industrial equipment and industrial maintenance best practices such as planning, PM programs, predictive technologies, spare parts management, CMMS optimization and RCM.
You must be willing to relocate for this program within the U.S.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
