Electronic Technician 4


Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an experienced Principal Electronic Technicianto provide service to our Plant Services SCADA systems team in our Bacchus Magna, UToffices.

Role description & Responsibilities:

This Electronics Technician is responsible for managing the Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system at Bacchus. The successful candidate will be responsible to manage, update, and troubleshoot issues with both hardware & software related to SCADA. This includes developing improved controller programming and related graphics, installing/replacing BAS controls and PLCs and interfacing with internal and external customers.

Job Duties:

  • Monitor operation and health of the Bacchus Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system

  • Diagnose and resolve SCADA problems such as sensor, controller, collection, data archival, HMI, system communications

  • Program and debug PLC and BAS controllers

  • Oversee alarm response, establish and adjust parameters as defined by internal customers.


Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Computer or other technical field is required.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience with building automation systems, HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Certification as an Electronic Technician is highly preferred.
  • Candidate must be mobile and able to work alone in remote locations on Plant
  • Candidate must be proficient in PC applications, IS applications and remote accessing.

Experience Preferred

  • Knowledge of Schneider BAS controllers and Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Knowledge of GE Proficy Ifix, iHstorian and Portal

  • Knowledge of the HVAC equipment and facilities

  • Vendor management, scheduling, and organizational skills

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Broad understanding of data processing hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of software platforms & interaction.
  • Strong skills in HVAC maintenance.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
