Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
As an Intern in the Design Analysis Engineering group in Magna, UT you will:
Apply theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of basic engineering problems; such as test, analysis and design.
Examine documents such as 3D CAD models, drawings, change orders and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data.
Where the intern can contribute, generation of 3D CAD models, drawings, change orders and specifications.
Confer with supervisor and document originators to resolve discrepancies and compile required changes to documents.
As requested prepare reports and memorandums.
Perform related duties as assigned or required.
Desired Experience/Skills:
Preferred candidates will have completed two or more years of college-level Mechanical Engineering degree program or other applicable field of study.
Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Experience and success in working within teams
Skills with one or more of the following specialties is desirable:
Technical writing and presentation
Drafting and drawing reading
Failure Analysis
ProE/Creo 3D CAD
Ansys (or other FEA)
Mechanical and electrical hardware design, assembly, and test
Proven ability to multi-task and self-starter able to work independently
Strong interpersonal skills to drive actions necessary to accomplish assigned tasks
Customer focus
Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects and resources
High degree of attention to detail and level of accuracy required
Most positions will be filled as a 12-week internship in Summer 2019

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
